Arcola Lake Elementary School is located on 1037 N.W. 81st Street in Miami, Florida and serves 492 regular education and 87 exceptional students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. It is populated with 73 percent Black Non-Hispanic, 25 percent Hispanic, 1.25 percent White Non-Hispanic and .75 percent other ethnic groups.

Arcola Lake Elementary School provides basic educational services based on Sunshine State Standards. Additionally, the school is a special education center dedicated to offering services to the deaf and hard of hearing, physically challenged, profoundly mentally handicapped, visually impaired and specific learning-disabled students in grades pre- kindergarten through fifth. Instruction is provided in traditional classroom settings and is enhanced with a variety of small-group tutoring and computer-based activities. School to home connections are fostered through the Parent Engagement Center, parent grade-level workshops, PTA, Saturday school instruction, and EESAC.

In order to enhance student engagement many programs are in place at Arcola Lake Elementary School. Among these are the Elite Steppers, the Arcola Lake Chess Team, Chorus, Dancing Rams, and Poets. Also incorporated is an innovative program of inclusion and mainstreaming of exceptional students. A pervasive ambience welcomes input and has high expectations for the achievement of all students, enabling each student to reach his or her maximum potential.
