PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the 2017 – 2018 school year! Our commitment at Arcola Lake Elementary School is to provide a safe, positive, intellectual learning environment that will empower students to become creative problem solvers, critical thinkers, and inspired learners prepared for middle school, high school, college, and life in the twenty-first century. As I enter into my sixth year as principal, I would like to continue setting high expectations for our students in regards to academic performance within the classroom, as well as responsible citizens at school and in the community. I am asking each teacher to make a commitment to having Ram PRIDE (Personal Responsibility In Daily Efforts) by being active participants in their learning and acting responsibly as an individual within our learning community. Doing so will enable all to have a successful and enjoyable school year.

Our school grade for the 2017-2018 school year is a “C”. The Education Transformation Office (ETO) will support our school as we strive to improve student achievement for all students at Arcola Lake Elementary in all areas. Please return to school with a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that you are a vital part of our learning community.

All teachers and support personnel are required to report on Thursday, August 17, 2017.  Please join me for a “Welcome Back Orientation at 8:00 a.m. in the school’s Cafeteria. During this time we will have structured workshops, and provide you with vital information.

I am excited for the opportunity to work with you and your student to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student success Again, welcome back! I are looking forward to working with each of you as we embrace the necessary changes needed to meet the challenges of Common Core and other state/district mandates.
